I was abused as a child and I never told my parents or sibling about it I felt like I was too much of a burden to them already so I didn’t say anything. I can only hope and pray for whomever this man is if indeed it does have basis from an acutal event.Įxcuse the mess but I’ll try to explain it out of my point of view.įor me this song is about leaving people (family) behind or in the unknown thinking you can get better by yourself without being a burden. This altpgether makes for a very powerful, emotionally charged piece. Because this part is left intentionally open to individual interpretation is one of the biggest reasons i think this song to be a suicide note because it makes thr lyrics very personal between the narrator and his family he sings of, as they would obviously know what he is referring to. The "cause i remember everything" part can only let the listener imagine what things in the past the family put him through to create this distraught i individual. The line " if i could hold back the rain ( referring to the gloom and sorrow of his death), would you numb the pain" ( asking them to be a part of his life and ease his suffering). The album is also available to stream via Apple Music and Spotify. To me, this sounds as if it is a suicide note of a man who has been disowned by his family for their poor perception of the outcome of his life ( for whatever reason, it is never clearly specified) and this is him desperately asking for one last chance of them to accept him back in, or he feels suicide is the only way to ease the pain of his lonliness. It was one of the most amazing events I have ever had the honor of being part of. When the video hit the screen, there were no dry eyes in the crowd. The band was on hand for a meet and greet with the soldiers and their families and were more than gracious as they spent hours meeting and chatting with soldiers and their families. I’m on the wrong side of heaven and the righteous side of hell.” We had the privilege of seeing this video debut for the soldiers at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. What have I become? What have I done? I spoke to the devil today and he swears he’s not to blame. “I spoke to God today and she said that she’s ashamed. One of my favorite songs of all time is “Wrong Side of Heaven”. They are huge supporters of the military, as evidenced in much of their music as well as on stage. And now I see clearly.”įinger Death Punch is a band that shows genuine love to their fans. Yet in some songs like “I Apologize”, lyrically, the band shows a more sensitive side… “One day I’ll face the Hell inside me. At the same time the band showcases how they take no shit, they are who they are, and they are a true force. One reason I am a Knucklehead is that Five Finger Death Punch has made an art of telling people to fuck off through their lyrics. These are lyrics from Trouble and just a taste of the ear candy on this album. I don’t look for trouble, trouble looks for me…”. There’s no regrets, I don’t care if you believe. Each song is not only hard, fast and moshable, but they also have some of the best lyrics in music.
